Hello good people,
Continuing from where I left off, there were a lot of activities last week with the failed England bid to host the World Cup in 2018 and all the counter argument that followed; I will like to say congratulations to both Russia and Qatar for their successful bid for 2018 and 2022 respectively.
It would be interesting to see how the Qatar stadiums to be distributed to Africa will work in reality, what countries, what region and how many will each get?
Back to my brand of football, I have outline some basic rules that would enhance the FA’s Respect campaign but might be hard to sell to the established football leagues in the country.
The beauty of these rules are the simplicity and how easy they can be taught to a younger generation thus changing the face of football as we know; this is my blue print to change a child at a time.
The rules are based on the ‘Golden rule’
“Do to others as you would have them do to you” Luke 6:31.
* Not appealing when we know we have kicked the ball out
* Not deliberately handling the ball to prevent the
opposition scoring, nor time-wasting when leading
* Not standing in front of someone about to take a free kick
* Not kicking the ball away
* Not arguing with a Referee or linesman
* Not arguing with the opposition
* Not pulling opponent’s shirt, nor diving in the 18 yard box
* Not complaining to a team-mate when they make a mistake
Always remember that playing against any team is a GOD
given opportunity to display our footballing skills competitively.
Till next week.
